WHAT DO FOLKS LIKE BEST ABOUT NERGC?
Each of the eight New England Regional Genealogical Conferences held so far has met NERGC’s objective of providing a quality conference at reasonable cost. The most recent conference, held in Portland, Maine in 2005, was attended by over 700 genealogists from over twenty states. I was surprised that the words "great networking" opportunities did not show up on this posting. I attended my first conference on the Cape and also attended, volunteered at and participated in the planning for the Portland and now the Hartford conference. Thru the conference I have met many people who have become a part of my "network" of persons sharing the "passion" for the importance of detail, the use of primary resources, the contribution to our history that family imformation offers. In a way NERGC is a family of its own. Going to the conferences gives many opportunities for sharing and collaborating. A great fun way to "network."
